Toe the Line
Lalu Delbracio

22nd October 2016
Roz Barr Gallery
London

In the performance Toe the Line, Lalu Delbracio explores the edges of narratives, celebrating gesture and our quest for personal freedom.

Narratives allow coexistence by creating belief systems. They draw lines between what is expected and what is accepted, while creating limits to our being.

On a line of paper, as a road, a border or a stave, Lalu peels and pokes holes, blurring the perimeter. Colours mix and shapes emerge, creating a river between shores.Through these gestures, she questions the narratives we have been told about ourselves, reshuffling, rejecting and allowing for a new space to emerge.

Lalu Delbracio is an Uruguayan artist currently living and working in London.

Performance supported by G. F. Smith.
